How do REBATES work?

1: Medicare

Our psychologists are registered Medicare providers. To claim a Medicare rebate you will require a Mental Health Care plan (MHCP). A Mental Health Care plan (MHCP) can be obtained from your GP, we will require a copy of your MHCP and GP referral letter.

You are entitled to up to 10 Medicare claimable sessions per calendar year. Simply book an appointment with your GP to organise a referral letter and mental health plan (addressed to Psychologist and Co Psychology).

We handle the payment process at the end of each session and take care of the Medicare claiming on your behalf.

Medicare rebates available are currently $98.97 for Registered psychologists.

2: Private

If you have “extras” private health insurance you may be eligible for a rebate for psychological sessions. It advisable that you check if you can claim psychological services. Following your appointment, a PAID invoice statement will be emailed to you which you can then submit to your private health insurance fund to claim a rebate if eligible

3: OTHER REFERRAL SOURCES

SIRA providers and Workcover Insurance referrals are accepted (Please bring your insurance confirmation letter).

What to Expect ?

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel uncertain — and that’s completely normal. Here’s what you can expect when you reach out:

🗓️ The First Appointment
Our first session is about getting to know you — your concerns, your goals, and what brings you to therapy. There’s no pressure to “have it all figured out.” It’s a space for us to start building a working relationship, in a way that feels safe and respectful.

🛋️ A Collaborative Process
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, patterns, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you. My role is to support you in gaining insight, building coping tools, and working toward meaningful change.

🔒 Confidentiality & Safety
Your privacy is important. Sessions are confidential, and I take care to create an environment where you feel secure and heard. We’ll also talk about any limits to confidentiality, so you’re fully informed from the start.

💬 Questions Welcome
If you’ve never been to therapy before — or if you’re returning after some time — you may have questions. That’s okay. You’re encouraged to bring any concerns or curiosities into our sessions.
